About Jhimi Technology

Ximei Technology was founded in June 2014 as a hardware company that designs and develops smart devices and is one of Xiaomi’s ecological chain companies. Xiaomi ecological chain is a collection of enterprises owned by the parent company Xiaomi. Jhimmy Technology’s product offering includes air conditioners, air purifier systems, humidifiers, electric heaters, fans, air detectors and anti-smog masks.

The news of Ximei Technology entering car manufacturing was revealed in late 2021. At the time, 36Kr reported that the former head of GM Pan-Asia’s electric vehicle project had joined Ximei to take charge of the vehicle business along with several personnel. BAIC also joined JIMI. And at that time, Xiaomi’s official response was: “Xiaomi has just formed a small research team due to its interest in electric vehicles, and currently has no detailed plans.”

Today, the small research team that Xiaomi refers to has now entered many key positions of Chery New Energy as the Ximei car manufacturing team. The Ximi team is responsible for product definition, planning and engineering, while Cherry is responsible for manufacturing, supply chain, sales, distribution and after-sales. Both parties will continue to create more products using this collaboration model, and plan to launch six to eight vehicles over the next three years.

The iCar v23 is designed with off-roading in mind, offering single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive options. The battery pack is supplied by CATL, providing a cruising range of 400 km to 500 km. Detailed powertrain and battery parameters have not been revealed yet at this time. Similar to the iCar 03, the iCar V23 adopts a more hard-core square box shape with round headlights, a raised front hood, thick bumpers, raised fenders, and an outboard rear box that serves as a storage unit.

The car is equipped with hidden door handles that can be lit, a roof luggage rack, side steps and paddle-shaped rims, available in 19-inch and 21-inch options.
