Meta co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said that the Quest 3—the recently launched Apple Vision Pro headset—is a poor product compared to Meta’s VR headset. The CEO posted the comment on social media.

It was on February 2 when Apple first released its new augmented reality (AR) headset that comes with advanced and updated features to meet the needs of the VR trend.

Since Zuckerberg used the headset, it has been reported that he was unhappy, as it failed to impress the Facebook CEO.

He responded to a post on Instagram threads where he claimed that Facebook’s Quest 3 is still years ahead of Apple’s latest AR headset. What he appreciated about the Vision Pro was the resolution.

In a post, Mark Zuckerberg wrote, “They have higher resolution, but they paid for it with a lot of other product tradeoffs that make their devices worse in most ways. “This is not what we aspire to.”

In the same post, Zuckerberg also addressed what he felt were the shortcomings of Apple’s AR headset.

“I don’t think we are saying that our tools are the same,” he wrote. We’re saying the Quest is better. If our devices weigh as much as they did in 3-5 years, or have blurry motion, or lack precise input, etc., then it means we have gone backwards to a great extent.

This is not the first time that tech giants and leaders have criticized others for their products and services. Mark has been vocal about his opinion of Apple’s AR headset and has been comparing it to his Meta Quest 3. Moreover, in February itself, Zuckerberg had uploaded a video on his instant messaging platform – Instagram where he wrote about Apple’s latest mixed-reality product.

He highlighted several points in favor of Facebook’s Quest 3 and claimed that it is better suited for most people around the world.

In a video message, Zuckerberg further said that the Quest 3 has better capture capabilities and can enable the user to have multiple windows open at once. The Facebook founder has focused on comfort, saying that the Quest headset has no wires and is lighter than other headsets (primarily focused on Apple).

Apple’s Vision Pro has been priced quite high (USD 3499 i.e. approximately Rs 2.89 lakh), and Facebook’s Meta Quest 3 has been priced quite affordably (USD 499 i.e. approximately Rs 41,260).
