The next generation KTM 390 Adventure is being tested extensively both in India and abroad. This is a completely new motorcycle and everything from the chassis to the design, features etc. bears no resemblance to the old bike. While there have been several images of the bike being tested on the road, a new image shows the new KTM 390 Adventure being tested off-road. And new information has come to light from this.

Pay more attention to off-road capability

KTM’s achievements in the world of rally racing, including the Dakar, are well known and it looks like the company has transferred all those learnings into the development of the new 390 Adventure.

The design of the bike is largely inspired by KTM’s rally bikes, which is evident in the high-mounted fairing, stacked LED projector lights and the tall windscreen. The fuel tank is slim and if you look closely, the tail section of the bike is even slimmer. This is a classic case of function winning out, as seen in the bike’s stand up ergonomics.

The test rider appears to have enough material for his legs to grip the midsection of the bike, from the knees down. He also seems to be a tall person and considering this, access to the handlebar feels easy and natural, without the need to bend too much.

The off-road ergonomics of the new KTM 390 Adventure seem to be in order and we will find out when we drive the bike in India after its launch.

Revealed by end of 2024

KTM is expected to reveal the 390 Adventure at EICMA 2024 later this year. This will be one of the big launches of 2024. To summarize, the new 390 Adventure is expected to be powered by. Engine of the latest generation 390 Duke. The 399cc, liquid-cooled engine makes 45.3bhp and 39Nm.

KTM is expected to offer a wide range of features on the bike, like all-LED lights, TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, traction control, quickshifter and more.

Once launched, it will compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
