Raashi Khanna blames Yoddha’s final OTT release

Raashi Khanna has opened up about the poor performance at the box office of her recent release Yoddha starring Sidharth Malhotra. This high-flying action thriller released in theaters last month, but did not live up to expectations. Speaking to India Today, Raashi talked about the challenge of drawing audiences to theaters when they know the film will eventually stream on OTT platforms. Reflecting on the box office collection of Yoddha, Rashi said that there are always different opinions when it comes to films.

She said, “Maybe there’s someone who likes it, maybe someone who hates it. There will always be all kinds of people there, but obviously we want a lot of people to like the film when it’s released. I think the challenge is still to get them to the theatres, because now everyone knows that the film will release on OTT. So this is a challenge that people also face. I do this sometimes too, but that’s also because I’m always busy. But I know that people are generally very busy today, so getting them to theaters is a problem. I don’t think Yodha is a bad movie at all, so that’s okay. I think every film has its own destiny, and you just learn from it and then move on to your next film. That’s all we can do.”

However, he said that he is thrilled that the audience is liking his work. He also said that he is happy to see himself on the big screen again in Hindi films and is grateful for the positive responses he is receiving. “You like the fact that it’s got love because you work so hard for it. But apart from that, my job is always to give my best and see that the audience is also enjoying my part. Because if a movie works and you don’t, it’s kind of sad. So I am really happy with the responses I am getting. I am really happy that people are really loving me, coming back to Hindi films and seeing me on the big screen. I was also very happy to see myself in Hindi on the big screen. It’s amazing. “It was a great moment and it felt great,” Rashi said.

According to Sacnilk.com, the film has earned Rs 34.4 crore in three weeks of its release. Yoddha is jointly produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions and Prime Video India.
