Triumph Thruxton 400 to be launched this year?

-Rajeev Bajaj has hinted at launching a new 400cc bike in 2024.

-May be based on Thruxton 400 speed 400

-The bike has been seen during testing

The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X marked the beginning of a new era for the company as it launched these new 400cc bikes last year. Developed and manufactured in collaboration with Bajaj Auto, these bikes surprised everyone with their price-performance and quality ratio. According to a statement by Bajaj Auto’s Rajiv Bajaj, Triumph may launch a third motorcycle based on this platform in 2024.

The new 400cc bike he is hinting at could possibly be the Thruxton 400. Test mules of the Triumph Thruxton 400 have been spotted on a few occasions and from the looks of it, the bike is based on the Triumph Speed 400.

The visual difference between the Speed 400 and Thruxton 400 is that the latter gets a semi-fairing, and looks similar in shape to the Speed Triple RR, which is sold in the international markets. The test bike has a round LED headlight like the Speed and Scrambler 400.

In keeping with the cafe racer status of the Thruxton 400, the bike has lower set clip-on handlebars instead of the single piece handlebar that you see on the Speed 400. This makes the rider’s triangle look sportier than the Speed. The fairing should also give the Thruxton 400 more visual mass that the Speed 400 lacks, which is perhaps one of its shortcomings.

The rest of the bike, be it the chassis, suspension or engine, should be the same as the other Speed 400. In short, the bike is powered by a 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. , It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of price, the Thruxton 400 is expected to sit between the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400.
