Mahindra & Mahindra is making some serious strides to take the Indian EV market by storm.

They are working on several new electric vehicles that will be launched as early as 2025. Mahindra currently has only the XUV400 in its EV lineup. However, the XUV.e9 may arrive in the Indian markets soon.

This car is currently undergoing testing and has been spotted on Indian roads several times before its launch. As per Hindustan Times report, the XUV.e9 was recently spotted in blue camouflage, creating huge excitement among automobile enthusiasts.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Features

The Mahindra XUV.e9 is going to have a huge screen setup that spans almost the entire width of the dashboard. This setup will reportedly include integrated displays that will include a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a passenger display.

The upcoming offering from Mahindra will also offer multi-zone climate control, (adaptive) cruise control, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging for smartphones and an advanced sound system. Being an EV, the XUV.e9 will also feature multi-level regeneration and vehicle-to-load (V2L) technologies.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Safety Features

When it comes to safety, Mahindra is expected to equip the XUVe.9 with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tire pressure monitoring system (TPAS) and ADAS features. Considering how the XUV700 performed in the Global NCAP crash test, expectations from the Mahindra XUV.e9 will be high.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Powertrain

The upcoming XUV.e9 will be based on the INGLO platform with 60 kWh and 80 kWh battery packs. Given the size of the platform and battery pack, the XUV.e9 can accommodate both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive setups. It is also expected to deliver a claimed range of up to 500 km. The car is also expected to have fast charging capabilities that will charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

Mahindra XUV.e9: Price and launch

The Mahindra XUV.e9 will follow the launch of the XUV.e8 which is expected to arrive later this year. This means that we won’t see the XUV.e9 in the market until 2025. The upcoming flagship offering from Mahindra should start at Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom). Looking at its features and price, the XUV.e9 will compete with TATA’s upcoming Harrier EV and Safari EV.
